On Saturday, August 10th, 2019, join us for the ninth annual David’s Old Silver Swim along our one-mile or half-mile course starting and finishing at the spectacular Seacrest Beach Hotel!

Proceeds will benefit Compassionate Care ALS, a nonprofit organization that models compassion to individuals with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.


TIME/LOCATION: Starting-line and finish chute at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel. Check-in from 8:00 to 9:15 a.m. on the Sea Crest beach, pre-swim safety meeting at 9:15 a.m., event starts at 9:30 a.m. Silent auction bidding from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Post-swim celebration and awards at 11:15 a.m.

*Bagels from Cape Cod Bagel and fruit from Jack in The Bean Stalk will be provided.
** Bathrooms are located either on the public beach or in the indoor pool area of the Sea Crest Beach Hotel

Parking & Directions

Start and Finish: Sea Crest Beach Hotel, 350 Quaker Road, North Falmouth, MA 02556

Parking is limited, so please walk, bike, car-pool or arrange rides with friends or family.

Parking options include:

Closest: Old Silver Beach public parking lots. These lots will open at 8:00 a.m. and are first-come first-served. The Old Silver Beach resident lot will be open for Falmouth residents with beach parking stickers only. The dirt lot, just across the street from the resident lot, will be open to all for the event – but anyone wishing to stay past the completion of the event will need to pay $20.

No fee, half-mile walk: Bay Shores Association Ball Field. A little further out, but arrive whenever you’d like and pay nothing! Come early and leave late—just make sure you’re out of the lot by evening. Parking attendants will give you directions for the walk to the Sea Crest Beach Hotel. A list of participant names will be given to the guard at the entrance to Bay Shore Drive. *Enter across from 39 River Drive, North Falmouth, MA.

Handicap Parking Availability. The Sea Crest Beach Hotel will be allowing handicap parking access for those with municipal passes. Please contact for the guidelines on the specifics and where to park.


TAX EXEMPTION: All proceeds are tax exempt.

ELIGIBILITY: Participants under 18 must have parent/guardian consent; participants under age 8 must register with an adult swim-buddy.

COURSE: Out and back along the shore (0.5- or 1-mile) marked with buoys. Stay closer to the shore to be able to stand or walk at all times or move farther out.

FEE: $35 online before noon on August 9th. First 200 registrants receive swim caps & gift bags! $45 day-of registration for 1 mile and 0.5 mile only.

TIMING: Participants will receive a timing tag for electronic timing by RaceWire.

POST-SWIM CELEBRATION: A ceremony will be held at 11:15 a.m. at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel. Awards to be announced. Be sure to check out the Sea Crest Beach Hotel dining options for lunch!

REFUNDS: We are not able to offer refunds for those who register but cannot participate but we may be able to offer transfer to another person. Contact the Race Directors for more information. In the unfortunate event of severe weather, the swim may require a late start or a cancellation. Refunds are not possible, although we will compensate registrants with 2020 registration waivers. Fingers crossed for good weather!

VOLUNTEERS: We need volunteers for a variety of posts including: lifeguards and in-water safety volunteers on surfboards and in kayaks, medical tent personnel, specialized (legal, marketing, etc.) or general volunteers needed before and on the day of the event!
